Travel Itinerary: Private 5 day tour from Marrakech

Day 1: Marrakech to Skoura

Your private 5-day tour from Marrakech to Marzoga begins in Marrakech where you will meet your driver in the morning, on the first leg of the journey, you will travel through the High Atlas Mountains where you will enjoy the most beautiful scenery of Tzi Tichka Pass. which reaches a height of 2260m above sea level. The drive to the mountains takes about 3-4 hours and you will have the opportunity to enjoy local food on the way and visit the Kasbah Telwat, which was the center of power of the El Glaoui family, thus sometimes called the Palace of the Glaoui.

Drive through the village of Berber and in the afternoon, you can explore the Kasar of Ait Benhaddou, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and a favorite Hollywood filming location. Later, we drive southeast to Skora Oasis, where you will spend the night in a quiet lodge in the middle of palm groves with dinner and breakfast.

Day 2: Skoura to Dades Valley

In the morning, after your breakfast, we start our day by exploring Kasbah Amerdil which is a historic fortified residence or kasbah (tigremot in Amazigh) in Morocco’s Skorra oasis. Your journey continues southeast to the Dades Valley where you will meet your mountain guide for a tour of the Badam Valley, explore the impressive rock formations of the canyon, visit a Berber family and have tea with them and learn about the Berber way of life. Enjoy a picnic lunch in nature. In the late afternoon, we drive to our guest house in the valley where you will spend the night with dinner and breakfast.

Day 3: Dades Valley, Todra Gorges to Desert Camp

Today, after your breakfast, we head towards Todra Ghat, the drive from our departure point takes about 1 30 minutes. Reaching the Todra Valley on the eastern side of Morocco’s High Atlas Mountains, here you can hike the Todra Gorge, one of the world’s most spectacular gorges and a top destination for hikers and rock climbers. Lunch somewhere in the area.

Later, we visit Khotarat, a traditional irrigation system that dates back more than 100 years. Drive to Erg Chebbi Dunes where you will find your camels waiting to trek for 1 hour through the orange sand dunes to reach the campsite (ordinary or luxury – depending on your budget). Enjoy sunsets, sandboarding and lounging around the campfire before meals and star-gazing. (Alternatively, ask your driver to take you to the campsite in a 4×4 vehicle).

Day 4: Desert camp to Agdej in Dra Valley

Today, we leave the desert and travel south. Our first stop will be Rissani, which has historical significance, once marking the junction of the West African caravan route, and the founding of the Alawite dynasty in the 17th century, the dynasty that still rules Morocco today. . In Risani, you can visit the souk three times a week: Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday.

Here you will feel the whole of Africa because of the local people and its narrow alleyways and local food that you can explore. In the afternoon, we drive for about 3 hours on a desert road with huge acacia trees all around. Stopping for beautiful photos of the Dra valley and volcanic rock formations. On arrival at Agdej, check into your guesthouse and opt for a walk to the Dra Valley. Includes dinner and breakfast.

Day 5: Agadez to Marrakech

In the morning, the last leg of your journey begins, drive from Agadez to Marrakech through the Anti-Atlas Mountains and Ouarzazate.
